Description

Swampuki from Michael Morse is a lonely kaiju who befriends a monster-obsessed young boy named Koni, in 1970’s Japan. The pair soon find that their world is full of strange beasts, robots, aliens, yokai, and a mysterious hero…

This Swampuki finger puppet figure is the first in a new line of art toys created by American artist Michael Morse, inspired by classic Japanese sofubi toys and the Showa era tokusatsu TV shows and movies that inspired them!

Each figure is handmade and painted in the USA by Michael Morse from durable polyurethane (no it’s not vinyl, but unless you regularly sniff your toys, you shouldn’t be able to tell). They come bagged with a stapled header card, classic sofubi style! The header card paper is hand marbled using Japanese suminagashi inks, making each card a unique piece of art.

Michael Morse thinks weird monster toys are cool so he decided to make some! He’s heavily inspired by vintage Japanese kaiju toys, tokusatsu, comic books, Star Wars, Rock’n’Roll, and general absurdity! In addition to handmade resin toys, Michael Morse Art/Toys also makes stickers, pins, and minicomics! Yeah!
